Spyros Milonakis (1925-2014)
ΣΠΥΡΟΣ ΜΥΛΩΝΑΚΗΣ
Spyros Milonakis was born in Alexandria, Egypt of Greek parents from Crete. He studied painting under the Greek painter Dimitris Litsas. In 1958 he settled in Athens, where aside from painting he also involved himself with graphic arts and typography. His first solo show was in 1962 at Galerie Zygos, Athens, and the next year he had one more, again at Galerie Zygos. He had a few more exhibitions in his lifetime, the last one in 2001 at Pantazidis Art Center, Athens. In 1999 he was awarded an honorary distinction by the Society of Greek Writers while he was also a member of the Visual Artist Guild. He passed away August 23, 2014.
