Hearts in Athens '08
and Galerie Zygos
On Sunday, December 2nd, 2008, Galerie Zygos hosted a live painting event, to benefit "Mazi gia to Paidi", a non-profit organization which funds children's causes including hospitals and orphanages, organized by Hearts of Athens '08.
Painters Bedros Aslanian, Vassilis Mavros, Alexandros Vakirtzis, Alexandros Loukissas and Alexandros Papaconstantinou jointly painted an oversize fiberglass heart in the presence of several artlovers.
We named the work "Five Painters-One Heart".
The heart was then exhibited in the open-air area of the Evangelismos Metro Station of Athens on the side of the War Museum, through the end of March, and was then auctioned by the kind people of Hearts of Athens '08.
"Five Painters-One Heart" received the winning bid from a celebrated Greek businessman and artlover who prefers to remain anonymous, and was installed at his private residence.
