George Koumouros

Born in 1955, in Yialousa, Cyprus, George Koumouros studied Mathematics at the University of Athens, School of Physics and Mathematics. He also studied Painting at the Pythagoras Academy of Fine Arts in Samos, with Aristotelis Solounias.
In 1993 he resettled in Cyprus and was appointed professor in secondary education. Since 1995 he is posted at the Pedagogical Institute of Cyprus in the Department of Educational Technology & Generation of Educational Material. He has directed short films and documentaries. In 2005, he earned a Master of Arts degree in creative education film from Middlesex University in London.
He has had a considerable number of solo shows, three of which in Galerie Zygos, and has participated in numerous group exhibitions.
