2005 @ Ellinikos Kosmos
Evgenia Georganda was born and raised in Athens, Greece. She started taking photographs at the age of 14, when she received her first camera as a birthday present from her father. During her graduate studies in Boston (1980-1986) she acquired a NIKON FM, which she still uses, and started printing black-and-white photographs with her friend, photographer Ioanna Rallis. Upon finishing her doctorate in clinical psychology she reurned to Greece and started teaching psychology and working in private practice as a psychotherapist. At the same time she followed courses in photography at "Photochoros" with Platon Rivellis (1987-1988) and at Southeastern College with Pamela Brown (1988-1990). She likes to capture faces and speacial moments in nature, exactly as she sees and experiences them, without the use of filters, processing, or other technical means. In October 2003, she had her first exhibition entitled "Water x30" at the Art Gallery of Nafplion. In September 2005 she has her first solo show in Athens, entitled "The Water and the Dream" at Galerie Zygos, at the Hellenic Cosmos, within the 12th Athens Photography Month.
